Windstream Holdings, Inc. (NASDAQ:WIN) a NASDAQ Stock has announced the appointment of Olen Scott as the channel sales’ vice president. Scott was previously at EarthLink where he was the partner channels’ vice president. This comes after Windstream acquired EarthLink for approximately $1.1 billion. The position was left open after the former chief of channel sales, Jason Dishon departed. Scott is now charged with the responsibility of supporting, operating and designing channel sales at Windstream.
“We are pleased to welcome such an experienced and talented channel sales executive as Olen to Windstream. We are committed to the success of our channel partners, and Olen’s leadership will be instrumental as we continue to simplify and strengthen our channel program,” Windstream’s enterprise sales’ executive VP Jeff Howe, said.
As the channel sales’ VP, Scott will be accountable to Jeff Howe.
Many years of executive experience
In his four-year tenure at EarthLink, Scott was in charge of leading the channel for indirect distribution at the company. He focused on agent and reseller partnerships for cloud services and managed network. Before he joined EarthLink, Scott was in charge of sales organizations during a stint at Verizon Business and Xo Communications. Scott is a graduate of the American University from where he holds a business administration undergraduate degree.
The new role at Windstream will mean bigger challenges as the company has four times the resources that EarthLink had. Windstream operates fixed wireless in about 40 markets in the Northeast and Southeast parts of the United States.
Channel sales staff absorbed from Earthlink
The channel team at the NASDAQ stock has increased by two times since the channel staff from EarthLink were absorbed following the acquisition.
