Metro Exodus is a visually striking game, especially on PC, but to make it run better, you need very respectable hardware. Is it possible to get 4K at 60 fps with active ray tracing?
Digital Foundry wanted to understand whether or not the lens was within reach of the current GPU, using a powerful NVIDIA RTX 2080 Ti and trying to lower the settings one by one until you find the square.
In the end, it was possible to run Metro Exodus at 4K and 60 frames per second with RTX active, but only by lowering the effects to meet the standards seen in the Xbox One X version and setting the ray tracing to a lower resolution.
In the same video, we also experiment a much more affordable 1080p60 with RTX active, using an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2060 and pushing the presets higher up than you imagined.
