Real Madrid will visit the Turk Telekom Arena to face Galatasaray in the Champions League.
After two group stage games, Real are last in their group. They began their campaign in disastrous style in Paris. At the Parc des Princes, Paris Saint-Germain beat the Los Blancos 3-0. Real had zero shots on target in the game, and PSG thoroughly dominated the contest. Since then, they have recovered to some extent. In the five games after that night, Real have been unbeaten. Three wins and two draws have been the results, out of which one draw came in their next Champions League game.
Club Brugge visited the Santiago Bernabeu, and the game started horribly for Real. Brugge took a 2-0 lead in the first half, and Real were reeling. Goals from Sergio Ramos and Casemiro in the second half rescued a point for Zinedine Zidane. Despite that point, they are last in the group. Galatasaray have the same points as them, but the Turkish side has a superior goal difference.
The Champions League has not been kind to Real, but the La Liga certainly has. After eight games they are first in the league. In that time they have not lost a single game. The latest victory was a 4-2 result over Granada. Summer signing Eden Hazard got his first goal for his new club in that game. Zidane will hope that Hazard will draw confidence from that and improve in the coming games. The former Chelsea man has started slowly in Madrid, but things could be about to change for the better.
Galatasaray also have one point from their opening two Champions League games. The first game ended in a goalless draw against Club Brugge. It was a dull game, and Galatasaray could muster only one shot on target in the entire game. They faced PSG in the second game and slipped to a 1-0 loss. Mauro Icardi got the only goal of the game in that one. Galatasaray upped the pressure in the closing stages but to no avail.
Their situation in the league is not encouraging as well. After winning the Super Lig for the past two seasons, Galatasaray are currently 10th in the table. They have won just two of their seven games and have 10 points. Alanyaspor lead the league at the moment, and they have four more points than Galatasaray.
Galatasaray have been strong defensively this season, and only one other side has conceded fewer goals in the Turkish league. However, their attack needs to complement their defence. Galatasaray have scored just six goals this season in nine games. New signing Radamel Falcao has scored just once, and he needs to up his level quickly.
Galatasaray vs Real Madrid Tips
The Turk Telekom Arena is a tough place to visit, and Real Madrid have not looked convincingly lately. This will be a tight game, and the total goals should be under 2.5 in total. Neither attack is reliable, but Real Madrid will be the favorites to get a narrow win.
