PSG will look to maintain their winning run in the Champions League when they visit the Jan Breydel Stadium to play Club Brugge.
After two games of the group stage, PSG are first in their group. They opened their campaign when they hosted Real Madrid at the Parc des Princes. Angel Di Maria scored twice in the first half to give his side a commanding 2-0 lead. Thomas Meunier scored late on to round off a comprehensive victory for PSG.
Against Real, PSG were without their famed trio of Neymar, Edinson Cavani and Kylian Mbappe. Neymar was suspended, whereas Cavani and Mbappe were recovering from injuries. Mbappe and Neymar watched from the stands as PSG ran riot. The win indicates the depth which manager Thomas Tuchel has at his disposal. In their second game, PSG faced Galatasaray at the Turk Telekom Stadium. It is a tough place to visit, but PSG coped well.
A goal from Mauro Icardi gave them a 1-0 win. It was Icardi’s first goal for his new club after moving on loan from Inter Milan. Mbappe featured in that game, but could only come off the bench. He could start against Brugge, as should Neymar. The Brazilian was banned for three games by UEFA for insulting match officials. But the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) reduced the ban to two matches, which he has already served. Pablo Sarabia should drop out of the lineup for Neymar, along with Icardi if Mbappe recovers in time.
Brugge entered the group as the favourites to finish last, but they are in second place as it stands. The Belgian side has claimed two draws from the first two games. They hosted Galatasaray in the opening game and secured a goalless draw. Two weeks ago they visited the Santiago Bernabeu to take on Real Madrid. Brugge caused a stir when they took a 2-0 lead in the first half courtesy of goals from Emmanuel Dennis. Real fought back to claim a 2-2 draw, but Brugge wasted chances to claim the win outright.
In the domestic landscape, they are doing well as well. Brugge are unbeaten in the first nine league games and top the table. They have won seven of those games so far, and have not lost a single game this season. They have won the last two league games by a combined score of 9-0.
Hans Vanaken has been in great form for them, and the midfielder has scored five league goals already. The two young forwards Emmanuel Dennis and Percy Tau are showing great promise as well. The duo combined for the goals against Real Madrid.
Club Brugge vs Paris Saint-Germain Tips
PSG will be the heavy favorites to get their third straight Champions League win. The total goals should be over 2.5 in the game, and PSG should score the majority of them. With the likes of Neymar and Di Maria in the attack, they will have enough ammunition to get the better of Club Brugge.
