Granada vs Levante Preview
Granada CF will look to continue their upward ascent when they host Levante UD at the Nuevo Los Carmenes in the La Liga on Saturday.
Granada Match Form
The Nazaries are having a fine season, especially after getting promoted from the Segunda Division by the virtue of finishing 2nd last season. Diego Martinez’s side are currently 9th in the league table, picking up 24 points from 16 games.Embed from Getty Images
The Andalusian club are 2 points behind Valencia, Atletico Madrid and Athletic Bilbao, who are all on 26 points with the latter occupying the final European spot. Further, they are just 3 points behind Real Sociedad in 4th place.
Thus, Granada have a realistic chance of finishing higher, however, it will require them to keep garnering points, especially at home. They won 3-0 against Alaves last time around and will look to pick up another home win on the trot.
Levante Match Form
Coming to their opponents, Levante are having a decent season of their own. They are currently in 12th place, with 20 points from 16 games. This is better from Paco Lopez’s side compared to last season when they finished 15th.
Further, the teams in mid-table are pretty close at the moment with just 8 points separating Athletic Bilbao in 6th and Alaves in 15th place. Thus, a decent run could see any side climb up the table and similarly, a string of bad results could see a team drop quickly.
Thus, the Granotas will have to work towards getting a positive result against the higher-placed Granada and they will look to shake off the 2-4 loss at the hands of local rivals Valencia with a positive performance this weekend.
In terms of team news, the home side will welcome Neyder Lozano back into the squad. However, Angel Montoro and German Sanchez will miss the game. Further, Quini and Fede Vico are doubts for the game as well.
Coming to their opponents, Eliseo Falcon will miss the game due to suspension while Ruben Vezo, Gonzalo Melero and Rober Pier are ruled out. Finally, Oscar Duarte, Sergio Postigo, Erick Cabaco and Ivan Lopez are all doubts for the game.
Granada vs Levante H2H and Betting Tips
Looking at head-to-head, the duo met 10 times so far, with 9 of them ending in victory for one of the two. Granada picked up 4 wins compared to Levante’s 5, however, the last meeting was way back in 2016.
In the last 4 clashes at the Nuevo Los Carmenes, the Nazaries won just once while the away side picked up 2 wins. Further, the last 5 games between the two witnessed 15 goals and once again, goals can be expected in this one.
Looking at recent form, Lopez’s side have lost each of their last 2 while the home side have won just once in their last 5 matches.
Thus, neither team is in a good nick going into the game. However, considering history, both teams can be expected to find the back of the net and share the spoils at the end of 90 minutes.
